Auto Driver Shaik Rahim Surrenders After Killing Wife Asmara Begum in Kukatpally

An auto-rickshaw driver surrendered to the police after allegedly murdering his 24-year-old wife following a domestic dispute in Kukatpally, Hyderabad on Thursday morning. The incident took place at the couple's residence in Indiramma Colony of Kaithalapur in the Moosapet area.
The deceased woman has been identified as Asmara Begum. According to the police, she was killed by her husband, Shaik Rahim, aged 26, who works as an auto-rickshaw driver.
The police stated that the couple had been married since 2024. They were living together in Indiramma Colony, Kaithalapur, and have a one-and-a-half-year-old son.
According to the police investigation, a quarrel broke out between Asmara and Rahim over family disputes on Thursday morning. The argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, Rahim allegedly attacked his wife. He allegedly slit Asmara’s throat using a sharp-edged weapon. The severity of the injury resulted in her dying on the spot.
Following the attack, Rahim left the residence and went directly to the local police station. He surrendered himself before the police officials and confessed to the crime.
Upon receiving the information, the police team rushed to the couple's residence in Kaithalapur. They recovered Asmara's body from the scene and shifted it to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
The police have registered a case against Shaik Rahim and are currently conducting further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder.
