Auto Driver Beaten to Death Over Rs 10 Change in Hyderabad's Vattepally

A 42-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was allegedly beaten to death following a dispute over Rs 10 change in the Vattepally area of Hyderabad on Sunday evening. The incident occurred under the Rajendranagar police station limits, triggering significant concern among residents in the neighbourhood.

The deceased driver has been identified as Mohammed Mukarram. According to preliminary information, an argument broke out between Mukarram and a group of people concerning change related to an auto-rickshaw fare.

The altercation escalated into a physical assault, leaving Mukarram critically injured. He was rushed for treatment but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care.

Police personnel arrived at the scene after being alerted about the clash. Mukarram's body was shifted for a post-mortem examination, and investigators are waiting for the final medical findings to ascertain the exact cause of death.

An initial probe into the incident suggests that two suspects, identified as Azeem, a YouTuber, and Shoaib, were behind the assault. Police officials are currently investigating their alleged roles in the fatal beating.

A Rajendranagar police official confirmed the legal proceedings, stating, "We have registered a case, and investigation is underway." The full sequence of events and whether any suspects have been formally arrested have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Following the incident, AIMIM Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen visited the spot and met with the victim's family members. The legislator demanded prompt and strict action against the individuals responsible for the fatal attack, along with enhanced police patrolling in the Vattepally locality.
