Attapur Police Recover and Return 25 Mobile Phones Worth Rs 2 Lakh to Owners

The Attapur police on Wednesday handed over 25 recovered mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs 2 lakh, to their rightful owners in Hyderabad. The devices had been successfully traced and retrieved using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

Inspector A. Seethaiah summoned the complainants and owners to the Attapur police station, where he personally returned the recovered devices following due verification. The owners expressed their delight and thanked the police team for their swift action in locating and returning their lost property.

Following the handover, Inspector Seethaiah urged citizens to utilize official reporting mechanisms whenever a mobile device is misplaced or stolen. He advised that individuals should immediately block and report lost or stolen handsets through the CEIR portal at ceir.sancharsaathi.gov.in or file a complaint at their nearest police station.

According to the inspector, blocking the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number on the CEIR portal is critical because it prevents the misuse of the device and significantly assists law enforcement teams in tracking and recovering phones promptly.
