Aster DM Quality Care begins operations in Hyderabad after major merger

On July 3, 2026, Aster DM Quality Care Limited officially commenced its operations in Hyderabad following the successful completion of a merger between Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited. This major corporate consolidation brings together four prominent healthcare brands under one unified platform: Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMS HEALTH.

The newly formed entity establishes a massive healthcare network that spans 28 cities across India. At its launch, the combined group operates a total of 39 hospitals equipped with over 10,600 beds. The company has announced plans to scale up its capacity significantly, with expectations to grow the total bed strength to over 15,000 beds in the coming years.

Beyond expanding physical infrastructure, the merger is expected to have a significant impact on the healthcare job market in India. The new platform is projected to create thousands of additional employment opportunities. These new roles will be available for a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and support staff.

A key objective of the combined network is to democratize access to high-quality medical services. By leveraging its expanded footprint, Aster DM Quality Care Limited aims to bring specialist care and advanced medical treatments to patients living in tier 2 and tier 3 cities across the country, where such services have historically been less accessible.

Speaking on the launch, Dr. Azad Moopen, the Executive Chairman of Aster DM Quality Care, emphasized the significance of the consolidation. He stated that the coming together of Aster and Quality Care as a single enterprise marks a defining milestone in their journey to build one of India’s most trusted and future-ready healthcare institutions.

Varun Khanna, the Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Quality Care, outlined the immediate operational priorities for the newly merged entity. Khanna stated that the company's immediate focus is to achieve a disciplined and seamless integration of the businesses while ensuring the absolute continuity of patient care.
