Ashwini Vaishnaw Announces Three Bullet Train Corridors For Hyderabad

On Saturday, Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw announced three proposed high-speed bullet train corridors connecting Hyderabad to Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Speaking to reporters at the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, the Minister stated that these corridors will transform Hyderabad into a "high-speed hub," integrating regional economies and reshaping the urban landscape of Telangana.

The three proposed high-speed routes will connect Hyderabad with Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru. According to Vaishnaw, these corridors will act as a major game-changer for the entire region, bringing massive development and fully integrating the regional economies. The initiative is supported by a Rs 5,400 crore railway budget allocated to Telangana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Vaishnaw also highlighted that Telangana has been a major beneficiary of the central government's electronics manufacturing programs, which have promoted more than 100 electronics manufacturing companies in the state.

In addition to the bullet train corridors, Vaishnaw shared updates on the "Nav-Nirmaan" station redevelopment initiative. Nationwide, the railway ministry aims to complete the reconstruction of 400 stations by the end of this year and 700 by the end of next year, with 261 stations already completed.

In Telangana, redevelopment work at the HITEC City and Begumpet stations has already been completed, with Begumpet set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister soon. Work is also progressing at Hyderabad (Nampally), Kazipet Junction, Malakpet, Warangal, and Karimnagar.

The Minister highlighted the ongoing redevelopment of the iconic Secunderabad station, describing it as a highly diligent operation focused on safety and quality. He explained that workers are constructing an air concourse—which acts as a roof over all the platforms—while regular train traffic continues to run underneath.

Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy and BJP State President N Ramchander Rao were also present at the event.
