Art Director Anand Sai's Son Arrested in Fatal Khajaguda Hit-and-Run Crash

Police in Raidurgam have arrested Sandeep Rai, the 23-year-old son of prominent art director Anand Sai, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Monday morning near Khajaguda.
According to investigators, Sandeep was booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligence causing death following the incident in which 31-year-old Nanda Kishor Kumar Ray lost his life.
The incident began early on Monday when Nanda Kishor was struck by an SUV while attempting to cross the road at Khajaguda. The 21-year-old driver of the SUV, identified as Zaydshah Kadri, immediately stopped his vehicle and stepped out to assist the injured pedestrian. A passing cab driver also noticed the accident, halted his vehicle in the middle of the road, and rushed to offer aid.
While Kadri and the cab driver were in the process of carrying the injured pedestrian across the road to a private hospital on the opposite side, two speeding cars approached from behind.
"Both Kadri and the cab driver picked up the injured and were shifting him to a private hospital on the other side of the road when two cars came from behind. While one car hit the parked cab, the other hit Kadri and the already injured Nanda Kishor," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kukatpally Zone) Riti Raj.
Police stated that the car that struck Kadri and Nanda Kishor was being driven by Sandeep Rai, while the second car was driven by his friend, Shourya. Both drivers fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Raidurgam Inspector T. Bhupathi confirmed the timeline and route of the accused prior to the collision. "At the time of accident, he was driving back from his father’s office in Jubilee Hills and heading towards his home in Financial district," the inspector said.
Following their investigation, Raidurgam police tracked down and arrested Sandeep on Tuesday as inquiries into the crash continue.
