Armed Mob Attacks Boduppal Housewarming Ceremony, Three Injured

An armed mob of 40 to 50 men attacked a housewarming ceremony in Devender Nagar Colony, Boduppal, in the Medipally area of Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday, June 28, 2026. At least three people were injured in the violent assault, which also resulted in the vandalism of parked vehicles.

The incident occurred during what was meant to be a celebratory gathering. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the large mob arrived armed with sticks, stones, and other objects. They reportedly barged directly into the newly inaugurated house where the housewarming ceremony was being hosted.

Once inside the premises, the armed men began attacking the guests. The victims of the assault included women, children, and elderly family members who had gathered to celebrate the occasion with the family.

In addition to the physical violence directed at the attendees inside, the mob also targeted property outside the venue. Several vehicles parked on the street outside the house were damaged by the vandals.

Following the sudden attack, the injured individuals were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment. Medical reports indicate that some of the injured victims are currently in critical condition.

Upon being informed of the violence, the Medipally police rushed to the spot in Devender Nagar Colony. Officers managed to bring the situation under control and subsequently deployed additional police forces in the area to maintain order.

The local police have registered a case regarding the attack and have officially launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts to contact the police for further details regarding the investigation and potential arrests proved futile.
