Archery Premier League Season 2 Begins at People's Plaza on Necklace Road
The second season of the Archery Premier League will begin at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road in Hyderabad on October 8, 2026, featuring 48 archers competing across six franchises. The ten-day tournament runs through October 18, bringing together leading Indian competitors and international archers fresh from the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
India's national squad recently secured a nine-medal haul, including five gold medals, at the continental event. In the Hyderabad tournament, these national teammates will transition into franchise opponents. The league divides the 48 participants equally between men and women, covering both recurve and compound categories, while enforcing a high-pressure 15-second shot clock format.
Several key medal winners will represent rival teams during the tournament. Kumkum Anil Mohod, the 17-year-old who became the first Indian to win an individual Asian Games recurve gold, and two-time gold medallist Sahil Rajesh Jadhav will team up for Chero Archers. Their roster also features Danish competitor Mathias Fullerton and two-time Olympian Atanu Das.
Asian Games double gold medallist Chikitha Taniparthi will line up for Chola Chiefs alongside Marcus D’Almeida of Brazil. The squad also includes four-time Olympian Deepika Kumari and World Championships silver medallist Rajat Chauhan, alongside other national figures such as Jyothi Surekha Vennam participating across the league.
Defending champions Rajputana Royals enter the competition seeking to retain their title. Their lineup includes Tokyo Olympic champion Mete Gazoz and British compound specialist Ella Gibson, backed by Asian Games gold medallist Ankita Bhakat, former world champion Ojas Pravin Deotale, and Kushal Dalal.
Archery Premier League Director Anil Kamineni stated that India’s recent Asian Games success provides an exciting backdrop for the second season. He noted that fans will see medal winners compete across rival franchises alongside world-class archers, adding that the squad quality and the 15-second format will produce a closely contested league and offer Indian archers valuable competitive exposure.
