Anurag University Graduates 2,789 Students and Honors Chintakindi Mallesham

Anurag University in Hyderabad celebrated its third annual convocation ceremony on Saturday, 4 July 2026, where a total of 2,789 students graduated across various academic streams. The ceremony marked a major milestone for the institution as graduates from engineering, technology, pharmacy, agriculture, and management officially entered the workforce.

The graduating class was led by 2,193 students from the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme. Additionally, the university awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees to 44 scholars who completed their research.

The convocation also saw degrees conferred across multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This included 155 Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduates, 90 Master of Computer Applications (MCA) graduates, 88 Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) graduates, and 74 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) graduates. Several other scholars received degrees in various postgraduate and doctoral programmes in pharmacy, technology, agriculture, and management.

A key highlight of the convocation was the presentation of an Honorary Doctorate to Chintakindi Mallesham. The renowned grassroots innovator was recognized for his groundbreaking weaving innovation, which was born out of personal sacrifice and hardship. His invention has significantly transformed the lives of countless weavers and workers in the handloom industry.

Addressing the gathering, Anurag University Chairman and BRS MLA Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy spoke about the future of technology and employment. He emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) will not eliminate jobs, but rather those who are skilled in utilizing AI tools will lead the future.

Dr. Reddy highlighted that Anurag University was the first institution in Telangana to launch a B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence eight years ago. He reaffirmed the university's ongoing commitment to integrating AI technologies across its curriculum, faculty, students, and campus operations.

Goutham Reddy, the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Executive Director of Re Sustainability Ltd, also spoke at the event, sharing insights on the relevance of the true engineering spirit in today’s world.
