Amneal Pharmaceuticals Completes Acquisition of Kashiv BioSciences

Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Kashiv BioSciences, LLC, creating an integrated global biosimilars company with research, development, manufacturing, and commercialisation capabilities. The Bridgewater, New Jersey-based biopharmaceutical firm announced the completion of the deal, which establishes biosimilars as a major long-term growth pillar within its Affordable Medicines business.
Chirag Patel, Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Amneal, described the transaction as a pivotal step in the company's strategy to become America's #1 Affordable Medicines company. He stated that the acquisition creates a platform capable of launching multiple biosimilars each year while extending the firm's growth profile into the next decade. Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer Chintu Patel added that the combination positions the company to capitalise on an unprecedented wave of biologic loss of exclusivity and work toward expanding patient access to affordable biologic medicines.
The transaction combines Kashiv's biologics research, development, and manufacturing assets with Amneal's commercial scale. This provides Amneal access to a global biosimilars market where more than $300 billion in biologics are projected to lose exclusivity over the next decade. The deal builds on an existing relationship between Amneal and Kashiv that has spanned more than ten years. Integration activities are currently underway, focusing on combining development and manufacturing operations to advance the biosimilar pipeline.
Kashiv BioSciences is a vertically integrated biopharmaceutical company featuring commercial and advanced clinical-stage assets.
