Amgen to Open Science and Innovation Centre in Genome Valley

Amgen has announced plans to open a new Science and Innovation Centre at Genome Valley in Hyderabad. The new facility will join Amgen’s global Research and Development network, expanding the biotechnology company's research capabilities and scientific footprint.

The upcoming site in Genome Valley will integrate experimental science, data, and digital technologies. By combining advanced biological research with digital innovation, the company aims to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative medicines for patients globally as part of its ongoing efforts to fight complex diseases.

The center will complement Amgen’s existing global R&D network, which consists of seven research laboratories. The company noted that the Hyderabad center will work alongside its established operations to integrate technology and biology across its research pipeline.

“The new centre in Genome Valley expands the way we integrate experimental science with data and technology across our global research capabilities and complements our strong US-based Research and Development footprint,” said Jay Bradner, MD, executive vice president of Research and Development, Artificial Intelligence and Data at Amgen.

The establishment of the new facility in Genome Valley marks a further expansion of scientific and technological research infrastructure in the Hyderabad region.
