AIMIM Worker Mohammed Mahboob Ali Stabbed to Death in Vattepally

A 53-year-old AIMIM worker was stabbed to death by a group of assailants near his residence in Vattepally in the Falaknuma area on Sunday night. Police have launched an investigation into the killing, examining whether the attack was connected to a long-standing family grudge stemming from suspicions of black magic.

The victim, identified as Mohammed Mahboob Ali, was a resident of Fatima Nagar in Vattepally. He operated a local dosa stall and had also recently ventured into the real estate sector.

According to the police complaint, Mahboob Ali left his home at around 10:00 p.m. to purchase food from Almas Hotel, situated near his house. While walking back home from the hotel, Ali stopped roughly 100 metres away from his residence to speak with an acquaintance.

While the two men were in conversation, six individuals arrived on two motorcycles. The group launched an immediate, unprovoked assault on Ali, stabbing him multiple times before fleeing the scene on their bikes.

"The group launched a sudden attack on Ali without any provocation. The accused stabbed him multiple times and fled from the spot," Rajendranagar Deputy Commissioner of Police S Srinivas said.

Local residents rushed the severely injured Ali to a nearby hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at around 10:45 p.m. that night.

Following the incident, police apprehended two juveniles on Monday for their alleged involvement in the attack. The main accused in the case, identified as Mohsin, along with other suspects, remains absconding as law enforcement continues its search.

After the killing, AIMIM MLC Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi and Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen visited the spot in Vattepally.
