AIMIM Functionary Stabbed to Death in Falaknuma's Vattepally

An AIMIM functionary was stabbed to death by a group of assailants near his residence in the Vattepally area of Falaknuma on Sunday night, Hyderabad police said.

The victim was identified as 53-year-old Mohammed Mahboob Ali, a resident of Fatima Nagar in Vattepally. Ali operated a dosa stall in the locality and had recently ventured into the real estate sector.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 9:15 pm on Sunday when Ali left his house to purchase food from a local hotel. After buying the food, he stopped approximately 100 metres from his residence to speak with an acquaintance.

While the two were talking, six individuals arrived on two motorcycles and launched a sudden assault on Ali. Falaknuma Assistant Commissioner of Police MA Javeed said the group attacked Ali without any provocation, inflicted multiple stab wounds on him using butcher knives, and immediately fled the scene.

Following an alert from a local resident, the victim's relative, Mohammed Abed Hussain, rushed to the spot and shifted Ali to a hospital in Shalibanda.

While being transported to the medical facility, Ali told Hussain that he was attacked by a local resident identified as Mohsin and others.

Police officials stated that an investigation is underway to establish the motive behind the murder, with authorities probing whether the killing was linked to a long-standing family grudge stemming from suspicions of black magic.
