AIMIM Expels MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig, Demands Resignation from Council

In a sudden political development in Hyderabad, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Saturday expelled its Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), Mirza Rahmath Baig, from the party with immediate effect.

Following the expulsion, the party leadership directed Baig to immediately step down from his legislative post by submitting his formal resignation to the Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council.

The decision was formally communicated through an official party release issued by AIMIM Joint Secretary S.A. Hussain Anwar.

"Mirza Rahmath Baig has been expelled from AIMIM with immediate effect. He must immediately submit his resignation to the Chairman of the Legislative Council," the party stated in the release.

Baig was elected to the Telangana Legislative Council under the Hyderabad Local Authorities constituency in 2023.
