Afzalgunj Police Book BJYM Leader Laddu Yadav Over Unauthorised Rally in Begum Bazar

The Afzalgunj police in Hyderabad have registered a case against communal sheeter and local Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha leader Laddu Yadav, also known as Ram Yadav, for wrongful restraint and disobedience of a lawful order after he allegedly organised a rally and delivered objectionable speeches without police permission.
According to Afzalgunj Sub-Inspector M. Subash, Yadav erected a stage at Begum Bazar Chatri on August 15 despite the police having officially rejected permission for the gathering. An estimated crowd of 1,000 to 1,500 people assembled at the location following his call.
Following the gathering at Begum Bazar Chatri, Yadav led a procession from the venue to the Bhagat Singh statue located near the Gurudwara in Gowliguda. The unauthorised march led to severe traffic congestion and caused major inconvenience to commuters and local residents across the area.
During the event, Armed Reserve constable D. Satish captured video footage of both the rally and the public meeting on his mobile phone to serve as evidence for the investigation. Based on the findings, the Afzalgunj police registered Crime No. 12 of 2026 against Yadav under Sections 126(2) and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated a formal probe.
Police officials noted that Yadav had previously been booked for conducting rallies through narrow lanes and delivering hate speeches targeting a specific community. Following the latest incident, a local woman resident appealed to the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner to invoke the Preventive Detention Act against Yadav, stressing that the city values its traditional communal harmony and urging strict action against those attempting to disrupt peace.
