Adilabad Cops Win 10 Medals At State Police Meet In Malkajgiri
Adilabad police personnel secured a total of 10 medals, including three gold, two silver, and five bronze, at the 4th state-level police meet held under the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate in Hyderabad last week. Following their successful campaign, the medal-winning officers met with Adilabad Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan on Monday, where they were presented with appreciation certificates for bringing recognition to the district.
The sports tournament saw participants from various regions, and the Adilabad team's haul consisted of three gold, two silver, and five bronze medals. According to police officials, two of the gold medals won by the contingent were secured in yoga events.
Among the individual winners, A. Rohini performed exceptionally to secure a gold medal in the artistic single yoga category. She also went on to win two bronze medals, competing in the artistic pair and group yoga events.
P. Puja won a gold medal in the artistic pair yoga category. In addition to her gold medal performance, she secured a bronze medal in the group yoga event.
Another key competitor in the yoga disciplines, A. Rupa, secured a silver medal in artistic yoga. She also won a bronze medal in the traditional yoga category.
The Adilabad police personnel also found success in martial arts and strength sports during the state-level meet. A. Prashanth won two bronze medals, competing in the taekwondo and pencak silat events. In the bodybuilding competition, P. Mir Singh secured a silver medal.
At the meeting held on Monday, Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan appreciated the personnel for their athletic achievements and for bringing recognition to the Adilabad district. He presented formal appreciation certificates to each of the officers who secured medals at the meet.
Several senior police officials were present at the meeting to honor the winning athletes, including Adilabad AR DSP Kamatham Indra Vardhan. Reserve inspectors D. Venkati and N. Chandrasekhar, along with other department officials, were also present during the event to congratulate the medalists.
