Actor Vatsal Sheth Seeks More Telugu Projects Following AI Short Film Debut

Actor Vatsal Sheth has expressed a strong desire to act in more Telugu feature films while discussing his debut artificial intelligence-powered short film, 'Happy Birthday Joshi', in an interview. The actor reflected on his ties to Hyderabad, where several of his movie projects have been filmed, and shared details about taking on multiple creative roles for his latest short film.

In 'Happy Birthday Joshi', Sheth took on comprehensive responsibilities as writer, producer, creative head, and director. The short film was produced under Prismix Studios, a banner Sheth established in 2025, in collaboration with LVS Studios co-producers Rajesh and Danish Devgn. Veteran actor Ajay Devgn also supported the production as a mentor, participating directly in story and editing sessions.

The core narrative of 'Happy Birthday Joshi' centers on themes of bullying and resilience, drawn from the history of the world's first computer virus. Sheth stated that he had been intrigued by the story since his school days and waited years for the right opportunity to tell it. Due to sparse historical records regarding who created the original computer virus or why, the production team included a disclaimer at the conclusion of the film inviting knowledgeable viewers to come forward with factual details.

The production process required navigating complex technical challenges associated with artificial intelligence technology. Sheth explained that mapping the micro-emotions of animated characters presented the most difficult hurdle during development. Despite the technical demands, Sheth and his production team successfully captured the emotional nuances of the characters.

Reflecting on his experience with Telugu cinema, Sheth discussed his role as Indrajit in the movie 'Adipurush', describing it as one of the toughest preparation processes of his career. While the film was shot primarily in Hindi and subsequently dubbed into Telugu, Sheth expressed deep appreciation for the overall experience and working with the filmmakers on set.

Sheth also highlighted his long-standing connection with Hyderabad, pointing out that his debut feature film, 'Taarzan: The Wonder Car', as well as several subsequent movies, were shot in the city. Praising the city's residents and local film fraternity, Sheth reiterated his eagerness to return for future Telugu projects. His upcoming lineup includes the Gujarati comedy 'Firki', co-starring Johnny Lever and Vijay Raaz.
