ACB unearths Rs 150 crore assets in raids on official Sunkari Narahari in Narayanaguda

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted extensive searches at the residence and properties linked to Sunkari Narahari, a Deputy Director in the Land and Survey Department, on Tuesday. The raids took place at Narahari's residence in the Narayanaguda locality of Hyderabad, as well as 11 other locations across the state of Telangana. During the operations, officials uncovered alleged disproportionate assets with an estimated market value of around Rs 150 crore.
The coordinated searches were carried out under the direct supervision of ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gangasani Sridhar. The agency targeted multiple properties associated with the land and survey official to investigate allegations of wealth accumulated beyond his known and legal sources of income.
During the search at the Narayanaguda residence, investigators discovered Rs 1.2 crore in cash. The currency notes had been packed into bags and hidden away in an attic. In addition to the cash, ACB officials recovered a large quantity of gold ornaments and several key documents related to property holdings and investments.
According to the ACB, the preliminary findings suggest that the total value of the assets accumulated by Narahari is vastly disproportionate to his known sources of official income. The agency is treating the matter as a major disproportionate assets investigation.
The ACB confirmed that the searches are still continuing. Investigators are expected to open and inspect several bank lockers linked to the Deputy Director to search for further assets or financial records. A comprehensive valuation of all the seized assets, including the gold and property documents, is currently being conducted by valuation experts.
Officials are also in the process of thoroughly examining all the financial records, property deeds, and investment details recovered during the multi-location raids to trace the full extent of the official's holdings. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
