ACB Uncovers Rs 20 Crore in Assets of Shamirpet Tahsildar T Sucharita

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted simultaneous searches at Himayathnagar, Shamirpet, Keesara, and Khanamet in Hyderabad, uncovering assets with an estimated market value of ₹20 crore linked to Shamirpet tahsildar and joint sub-registrar T Sucharita. The search operations were carried out after the ACB registered a fresh disproportionate assets case against the revenue official on Wednesday under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Sucharita was previously arrested in May in connection with a bribery case and is currently in judicial remand. The new investigation into her financial holdings led ACB sleuths to execute searches at her primary residence in Himayathnagar, as well as three other premises tied to her relatives, associates, and benamis within the city of Hyderabad.
During the operation, investigators identified several high-value assets suspected to be disproportionate to Sucharita's known sources of income. The uncovered properties include two acres and 17 guntas of agricultural land located in Damarakunta village within the Siddipet district of Telangana.
In addition to the agricultural land, officials found three flats situated at various locations across Hyderabad, along with two plots in the localities of Keesara and Khanamet.
The search teams also seized physical assets and liquid funds during the raids. This included ₹12 lakh in cash, two cars, and gold and diamond ornaments valued at ₹1.2 crore. Furthermore, the ACB identified bank deposits amounting to ₹38 lakh.
According to the ACB, while the estimated market value of the seized properties and items reaches ₹20 crore, the total documentary value of the assets detected during the searches stands at ₹5.05 crore. The disproportionate assets case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act as the investigation continues.
