ACB Arrests Transco Assistant Engineer for Rs 25,000 Bribe in Sangareddy

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested an Additional Assistant Engineer of Transco on Thursday, June 18, 2026, after catching him red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 at his office in Sangareddy.
The arrested official has been identified as B Ramakrishna Reddy, who was serving as the Additional Assistant Engineer of Transco in Sangareddy.
According to officials, the incident unfolded after a local resident accidentally rammed his car into an electrical pole in the town. Following the accident, Reddy allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the driver. The engineer reportedly made the demand in exchange for not taking any action against the complainant regarding the damaged pole.
Reluctant to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB officials and reported the demand. Based on this information, the ACB sleuths laid a trap at the engineer's office in the town.
During the trap operation on Thursday, Reddy was caught red-handed by the ACB team as he accepted the Rs 25,000 cash from the complainant.
Following the successful trap and arrest, the Transco engineer was taken into custody. He was later transported to Hyderabad, where he was produced before the Special SPE and ACB Court.
