ACB Arrests Rajampet Sub-Inspector for Accepting Rs 30,000 Bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Duvvala Anjaneyulu, the sub-inspector of Rajampet police station in Kamareddy district, red-handed at his residence on Thursday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant. The arrested officer is being produced before the Second Additional Special Judge for Trial of SPE and ACB Cases Court at Nampally in Hyderabad.

According to the ACB, the sub-inspector demanded the bribe in exchange for performing an official favour. Anjaneyulu sought the undue advantage of Rs 30,000 to grant station bail to the complainant's son and to extend further favours to him during the filing of the charge sheet in an ongoing case.

Following the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and apprehended Anjaneyulu at his residence as he accepted the money. The bureau recovered the entire tainted bribe amount of Rs 30,000 from the accused officer.

ACB officials stated that the sub-inspector accepted the undue advantage and performed his public duties dishonestly and improperly. The identity of the complainant has been withheld by authorities for security reasons.

Following his arrest, Anjaneyulu is being transferred to Hyderabad to face judicial proceedings at the special ACB court in Nampally. Officials confirmed that further investigation into the case is currently underway.
