ACB Arrests Ibrahimpatnam RDO Official, Unearths Rs 50 Crore in Illegal Assets

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested Desani Srinivas Reddy, an administrative officer at the Ibrahimpatnam Revenue Divisional Office (RDO), on Thursday in a disproportionate assets case. Investigators unearthed assets worth an estimated Rs 50 crore linked to the 61-year-old official.
ACB teams carried out simultaneous searches at seven locations connected to Srinivas Reddy, who holds the rank of tahsildar and was serving as a DAO at Ibrahimpatnam. The search operations targeted his residence in Karmanghat, his office in Ibrahimpatnam, and five other properties belonging to his relatives and associates.
During the raids, officials identified multiple immovable properties, including two flats in Karmanghat, a G+3 building with a penthouse on a 233-square-yard plot in Karmanghat, and eight plots spread across the city and its outskirts. The searches also uncovered 10 acres and eight guntas of agricultural land located at Nallavelly village in Yacharam mandal of Rangareddy district.
In addition to real estate, investigators found that Srinivas Reddy had invested Rs 86 lakh as a share in a bar and restaurant in Balapur. The ACB also seized Rs 4 lakh in cash, Rs 8.6 lakh in bank deposits, 680 grams of gold ornaments, three cars, two two-wheelers, vehicles valued at Rs 59 lakh, and household items and electronic gadgets worth Rs 11 lakh.
This marks the second disproportionate assets case booked against Srinivas Reddy by the ACB since 2009. Following the initial case, the government had recommended departmental action against him as punishment.
