ACB Arrests Bhupalapally Mines AD Jaya Raju in Rs 3.06 Crore DA Case

Bojja Jaya Raju, the Assistant Director of the Mines and Geology department in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district, has been remanded to judicial custody following his arrest by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The arrest took place after officials uncovered disproportionate assets valued at Rs 3.06 crore during simultaneous searches conducted across the state on Thursday.

Jaya Raju, who was also holding Full Additional Charge (FAC) as Deputy Director of the Mines and Geology department in Warangal, faces charges of acquiring assets through corrupt practices and dubious means over the course of his service.

ACB sleuths carried out preliminary searches at eight different locations connected to the officer, his relatives, and his associates, including houses belonging to him and his friends across Telangana.

During the preliminary enquiry and searches, investigators examined the mobile phone and financial records of Sattunuri Yadaiah, the driver working for the accused officer. The inspection revealed that approximately Rs 24.80 lakh had been transferred through multiple bank transactions directly from the driver's account to the bank account of Jaya Raju's daughter.

According to ACB officials, the driver stated that the transferred money had been collected from individuals involved in sand transportation and related businesses before being routed to the official's daughter.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau stated that further investigation is currently underway to determine the complete source, nature, and purpose of the financial transactions, as well as to trace the full extent of the alleged illegal gratification.
