45.2 Lakh Telangana Voters Marked Permanently Shifted in SIR Drive

Nearly 45.2 lakh electors in Telangana have been marked as permanently shifted during the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state electoral roll. According to figures announced by Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy following the completion of the enumeration phase, this group forms the largest overall category among all forms classified as uncollectable across Telangana.

Out of Telangana’s total voter population of 3,38,26,448 electors, enumeration forms for 2,64,87,214 electors—accounting for 78.30 per cent—have been successfully digitised. Conversely, forms for 73,39,234 electors, or 21.70 per cent of the state total, were classified as uncollectable during the SIR enumeration process.

A detailed breakdown of the 73,39,234 uncollectable forms shows that electors listed as permanently shifted represent more than three-fifths of the uncollected total. In exact figures, 45,18,961 forms were placed in the permanently shifted category, making it the primary reason for forms remaining uncollected.

The second highest category among uncollectable forms involves electors marked as absent or untraceable, which accounts for 11,25,546 forms. Additionally, 9,22,230 uncollectable forms were linked to deceased electors who were previously listed on the voter rolls.

The statistics released by the Chief Electoral Officer also show that 6,70,203 forms were categorised as already enrolled in the system. Finally, a total of 1,02,294 enumeration forms fell under the category of “Others”.
