30-Year-Old Driver Arrested Near ORR with Hash Oil Worth ₹2.5 Lakh

The Telangana EAGLE Force and Abdullapurmet police arrested a 30-year-old driver and seized 200 ml (330 grams) of hash oil valued at ₹2.5 lakh near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad highway on Saturday. The arrested man was identified as Burse Narendra Srinivas, a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh and a resident of Gurramguda.

Police intercepted Srinivas shortly after he got off a bus along the highway. According to law enforcement officials, he deliberately avoided booking bus tickets in advance and instead boarded en-route buses in an effort to evade detection while transporting illegal substances into the city.

Investigators revealed that Srinivas had previously been arrested in five cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Saroornagar and Meerpet police stations. After being released on bail, he allegedly resumed drug peddling after finding his earnings as a driver insufficient for his living expenses.

Police said Srinivas came into contact with a supplier, identified as Hari of Paduwa, through Snapchat and began procuring hash oil to sell in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

Srinivas allegedly travelled to Paduwa in the Koraput district of Odisha on August 2 and stayed there for four days before purchasing two bottles containing 200 ml of hash oil for ₹9,000. Police confirmed this was his third purchase from the supplier.

Srinivas returned to Hyderabad by bus before being caught near the ORR. Officers said he allegedly sold 10 ml of hash oil for ₹1,200 and had so far identified about 10 customers in LB Nagar and nearby areas.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Abdullapurmet police station. The alleged supplier, Hari, remains absconding.
