26-Year-Old Woman Found Dead at Langar Houz Lodge, Companion Taken Into Custody

A 26-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the Hotel Grand Lodge in the MD Lines area of Langar Houz, Hyderabad, in the early hours of Friday, July 3, 2026. The Langar Houz police have launched an investigation to determine whether the case is one of suicide or murder, following conflicting claims from the victim's companion and her family.

The victim, identified as Renuka, had checked into a room at the Hotel Grand Lodge late on Thursday with a 34-year-old man identified as Farooq.

According to the police, Farooq later informed authorities that Renuka had allegedly died by suicide. He claimed that she had hanged herself inside the lodge room in the early hours of Friday.

However, the woman’s family members rejected the suicide claim. The family has alleged that Renuka was murdered, prompting the police to intervene.

Following the complaint registered by the family, the Langar Houz police registered a case and took Farooq into custody for questioning.

The body of the victim was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy. Investigators are currently awaiting the forensic and post-mortem findings to determine the exact cause of death.

The Langar Houz police stated that they are examining all possible angles to ascertain the truth behind the incident. Officials added that further action would be taken based on the forensic evidence and the outcome of the investigation.
