26-Year-Old Shopkeeper Electrocuted While Fixing Signboard in Balanagar

A 26-year-old shopkeeper died after being electrocuted while attempting to secure a loose signboard at his shop in Balanagar on Monday night.
The victim was identified by police as Sanju Choudhary. A native of Gujarat, Choudhary had moved to Hyderabad with his family around a decade ago. The family operates a glass and hardware store in Balanagar and resides on the floor directly above the establishment.
According to police officials, Choudhary was looking after the business when he noticed that the shop's name board, fixed to the wall, had become loose. He climbed up to fasten the board securely using binding wire.
While attempting to tie the board, Choudhary accidentally came into contact with overhead high-tension power lines running close to the structure. He sustained a severe electric shock from the live cables and collapsed unconscious.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for emergency medical attention. However, doctors at the facility declared him dead.
The Balanagar police have taken up the matter and are currently investigating the incident.
