24-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Lorry Accident Near Shamshabad

A 24-year-old private employee was killed and his pillion rider suffered serious injuries after a speeding lorry ran over him near Palamakula in Shamshabad on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Kondurg Venkatesh, a resident of Balapur in Ranga Reddy district. His friend, Likki Karthik Reddy, sustained severe injuries and survived the incident.
According to Shamshabad Inspector of Police Y Surender Reddy, the incident occurred around 5:20 pm while the two men were travelling from Mamidipally towards Jadcherla on a Yamaha motorcycle.
Police said Venkatesh was riding the two-wheeler and attempted to overtake another vehicle about 200 metres past Palamakula. During the manoeuvre, he lost control of the motorcycle and both riders fell onto the road.
A lorry, allegedly driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, ran over Venkatesh's head immediately after the fall, killing him on the spot. Karthik Reddy suffered severe injuries in the crash.
The Shamshabad police have registered a case against the lorry driver and initiated an investigation.
