24-Hour Water Cut in Banjara Hills and Other Areas from August 17

Drinking water supply will be disrupted for 24 hours across several parts of Greater Hyderabad, including Banjara Hills, starting from 10 am on August 17 until 10 am on August 18. The shutdown is scheduled to facilitate major maintenance and infrastructure works by the water board.

According to an official press release issued on Saturday by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), technical teams will take up junction works on the pumping main, connection works on the gravity main, and the replacement of several valves. These works will be executed at the Phase-IV pump house situated on the Peddapur campus of the Singur Project, which serves as a key source of drinking water for Greater Hyderabad.

Due to the 24-hour maintenance window, water supply across the identified zones will be either completely halted or partially interrupted. In certain neighbourhoods, residents may experience low-pressure water flow during the period.

Along with Banjara Hills, the disruption will impact a wide range of residential and commercial localities across the city. The affected regions include Somajiguda, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Sanath Nagar, Erragadda, Yellareddyguda, Vengalrao Nagar, Borabanda, ESI, NIMS, Tattikhana, BS Makta, and MS Makta.

Other areas listed by the water board include Chandanagar, BHEL bulk connections, MIG-I and MIG-II, Rail Vihar, the Indian School of Business (ISB), KPHB Colony, Shaikpet, Kokapet, Manikonda, Narsingi, and Gayatri Nagar.

The maintenance operations will also affect supply in Kondapur, Aditya Nagar, Prem Nagar, Hafeezpet, Mayuri Nagar, Gokul Plots, Malaysian Township, Hyder Nagar, Bollaram, IDA, Reddy’s Labs, Coca-Cola, and surrounding vicinities.

In light of the scheduled 24-hour disruption, the HMWSSB has appealed to consumers residing in the affected localities to plan ahead and use water sparingly until regular operations are restored on August 18.
