22-Year-Old Man Beaten To Death By Friends In Pasumamula Near Hyderabad

A 22-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his friends in the early hours of Wednesday in Pasumamula, under the Hayathnagar mandal near Hyderabad. The victim, identified as Nishani Suhas, was reportedly killed following disputes over ganja transactions and an altercation regarding inappropriate messages he sent to a girl.

According to the police, Suhas was addicted to ganja and was also involved in selling it to fund his addiction. His mother, Nandini, had previously realized he was going astray while they were living in Secunderabad. In an effort to keep watch over him, she had bought a house and relocated the family to Pasumamula. Nandini, who had lost her husband and married off her daughter, had pinned all her hopes on her son.

Suhas was close friends with Rakesh from Secunderabad, Parashuram and Raju from Nadimipally and Pedda Amberpet, and one other unidentified individual. Since Suhas did not own a mobile phone, he allegedly used one of his friends' phones to chat with a girl on Instagram. He reportedly sent her obscene messages and spoke to her inappropriately. The girl later informed her boyfriend, who was one of Suhas's friends, about the incident.

The police stated that the group planned to eliminate Suhas due to this behavior, combined with previous fights over money during their ganja dealings.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Parashuram, Raju, Rakesh, and the fourth unidentified person made an audio call to Nandini’s Instagram account, as Suhas did not have a phone. When she did not answer, the group went directly to their house in Pasumamula and lured Suhas outside.

They took him to a deserted area on the outskirts of Pasumamula village and attacked him. Suhas managed to run about half a kilometer in an attempt to escape, but the group chased him down. They beat him brutally, including on his genitals, until he died.

Police sources said the suspects then dumped Suhas's body on a cement bench near a cremation ground on the Pedda Amberpet-Pasumamula road before fleeing the scene.

The Hayathnagar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Officers have taken one suspect into custody for questioning, while efforts are underway to locate and arrest the remaining suspects.
