22 Telangana Pilgrims Injured in Bus-Truck Collision on Bihar Bridge

At least 22 pilgrims from Telangana were injured on Monday morning after their bus collided with a truck on the Veer Kunwar Singh Bridge in Buxar, Bihar. The collision occurred around 4:00 AM as the group was travelling from Gayaji toward Ayodhya.

The bridge, which connects Bihar with Uttar Pradesh, served as the transit route for the devotees following their visit to Gayaji. The pilgrims had visited the holy site to perform 'pind daan' rituals during the ongoing Pitru Paksha fair.

Following the impact, the front portion of the bus was severely damaged. Local authorities and police rushed to the scene immediately to carry out rescue operations and assist the injured travellers.

All 22 injured passengers were transported to the Buxar Sadar Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Officials confirmed that the victims received immediate care upon arrival.

Confirming the details of the incident, Buxar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gaurav Pandey stated that the passengers were taken to Buxar Sadar Hospital for treatment and are now out of danger.

The damaged bus was subsequently removed from the Veer Kunwar Singh Bridge, allowing authorities to clear the resulting traffic disruption and restore normal vehicle movement on the interstate route.

Police officials noted that the passengers were heading toward Ayodhya to continue their pilgrimage after completing their religious rites in Gayaji. Local police have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the collision.
