218 Candidates Shortlisted at AWPO Job Drive in Secunderabad

A total of 218 candidates were shortlisted for final selection during a recruitment drive organised by the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) at Secunderabad Military Station. The placement drive was held under the aegis of Headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) to support Veer Naris, widows, dependents of ex-servicemen, serving soldiers' families, and fresh graduates.

Twenty-six private and multinational firms participated in the employment drive to conduct interviews. Among the participating recruiters were Magic Bus, Air India SATS, Fractal, and WIPRO, alongside 22 other corporate organisations seeking talent across various operational roles.

A total of 497 candidates appeared for interviews during the drive. This pool of applicants included 45 Veer Naris and women candidates, alongside young graduates competing for opportunities in the corporate sector.

Following the interview process, recruiters shortlisted 218 candidates for final selection. The shortlisted cohort includes 27 Veer Naris and women candidates, as well as 191 fresh male and female graduates. Participating employers are expected to issue final selection lists and official appointment offer letters to the selected individuals within the next two to three weeks.

The placement event was attended by the Deputy Chairperson of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), HQ TASA. During the visit, the Director of the AWPO briefed the Deputy Chairperson on the conduct of the drive and the participating multinational and private firms. She also interacted with the job applicants and delivered a talk encouraging them to capitalise on the available employment opportunities and contribute meaningfully toward nation building.
