21-Year-Old Woman Stabbed to Death in Balapur Over Marriage Dispute

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend following a dispute over marriage in the Balapur area of Hyderabad, police officials said on Monday. The accused reportedly placed her body inside a gunny bag before fleeing the scene.

The victim has been identified as Rehana, a 21-year-old native of Bihar. Police have registered a case against the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Ahmed Salam, who remains absconding.

According to the Balapur Police, the incident came to light during the early hours of Monday after law enforcement received an emergency call. Police stated that they received a 'Dial 100' call around 5:00 am reporting the presence of a dead body inside a gunny bag in a bedroom. Police officials immediately dispatched a team to the location.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Rehana and Ahmed Salam were in a relationship, but differences had emerged between the two regarding their future. Officials noted that the victim was pressuring Salam to marry her, which led to an altercation. Salam allegedly attacked and killed her with a knife, stuffed her body into a gunny bag, and fled the premises.

Police officials have sent the victim's body for a post-mortem examination. A search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend the absconding accused, and further investigation into the case remains ongoing.
