21-Year-Old Woman Murdered in Shaheen Nagar, Body Found in Gunny Bag

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner at Bismillah Colony in Shaheen Nagar, Hyderabad, late on Sunday night. The victim was identified as Rehana Begum, a native of Bihar.

Balapur police said they rushed to the residence after receiving information about the murder through a call made to Dial-100 by an unidentified person. By the time officers arrived at the spot, the victim's body had been stuffed into a gunny bag inside the bedroom. Senior local zonal police officials also visited and inspected the location.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police DV Pradeep Kumar Reddy, the body was found packed inside the gunny bag, ready to be disposed of. Investigators also found bloodstains across the bedroom floor, where the fatal attack is believed to have taken place.

Police suspect the direct involvement of the victim's missing partner, identified as Ahmed Salam. Both Rehana and Ahmed were employed at a local function hall and had been residing together in the same house for the last few months.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had been engaged in frequent arguments over the issue of getting married over the past few days. Police suspect that another altercation broke out regarding the marriage proposal, leading Ahmed to allegedly attack and kill Rehana with a knife.

The police registered a case of murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigators have reportedly taken three persons into custody, including two individuals who are suspected of having assisted Salam in connection with the crime.
