21-Year-Old Nurse Found Murdered in Pahadishareef Hospital Quarters

A 21-year-old nurse was found murdered inside her residential quarters at a private hospital in the Pahadishareef area of Hyderabad. Police have taken a man from Bihar into custody for questioning in connection with the incident.

The victim was identified as Sirisha, a native of Khammam district. According to Pahadishareef Inspector Lakshminarayana Reddy, she had been employed at the private healthcare facility for the past eight months and resided in accommodation provided by the hospital on its premises.

Sirisha reportedly returned to her room at around 10 p.m. on Friday and did not emerge the following day. Concerns grew on Saturday afternoon when she failed to respond to repeated calls from hospital staff. Colleagues then broke open a window to her quarters and discovered her dead inside the room.

Upon being alerted, the Pahadishareef police reached the scene and conducted an inspection. Investigators found injuries on Sirisha's face, raising strong suspicions that she had been physically attacked and murdered. Forensic clues teams and a dog squad were deployed to the location to gather physical evidence and collect samples from the crime scene.

The victim's body was subsequently shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Police officials stated that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death. Investigators noted that they are awaiting the autopsy report before commenting on any possible sexual assault angle.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed at Osmania General Hospital on Sunday afternoon as workers from the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a dharna on the hospital premises. The demonstrators demanded a comprehensive police investigation into the murder and swift justice for the victim. In response to the gathering, police personnel beefed up security arrangements around the mortuary to maintain order.
