2 Pilgrims Killed, 2 Injured as Truck Hits Parked Tourist Bus Near Armoor

Two pilgrims died and two others suffered serious injuries on Thursday after a high-speed truck rammed into a stationary tourist bus near Govindpet bridge in Armoor mandal of Nizamabad.

The deceased were identified as 54-year-old Sujatha and 47-year-old Madhavi. Two other passengers, identified as Sunitha and Chitakka, sustained severe injuries in the collision and were shifted to a government hospital, where doctors were monitoring their condition.

The pilgrims were travelling from Kinwat in Maharashtra’s Nanded district to Hyderabad to visit Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. The group was travelling together in two tourist buses when one of the vehicles developed a tyre puncture along the national highway near the Govindpet bridge area. Both tourist buses were then stopped on the highway.

While waiting for the tyre to be repaired, some of the passengers got off the bus and sat on the road median. A truck approaching from behind at high speed failed to notice the stationary bus in time and crashed into it.

The force of the collision pushed the tourist bus onto the median where the passengers were seated. Sujatha and Madhavi suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot, while Sunitha and Chitakka sustained serious injuries before being rushed to the hospital.
