19-Year-Old NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide in Miyapur

A 19-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide in the Miyapur neighborhood of Hyderabad on Saturday. Local police, who reported the incident on Sunday, June 21, 2026, suspect the teenager took her own life due to academic stress related to the NEET re-examination.

The young woman had been residing with her sisters in an apartment located in Miyapur. According to a preliminary investigation conducted by a local police official, she died by hanging.

During their investigation at the apartment, police recovered a note purportedly written by the deceased student. In the recovered note, she stated that "no one is responsible for her death."

Despite the note, preliminary police inquiries suggest that she was unable to bear the immense pressure associated with the NEET re-examination, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday.

The tragic incident has drawn significant attention to the severe mental health struggles and academic pressure faced by students who prepare for highly competitive national exams like the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.
