183 Hyderabad School Teachers Face Action for Missing FRS Attendance

183 Hyderabad School Teachers Face Action for Missing FRS Attendance

The Hyderabad district administration has issued show cause notices to 183 government school teachers across areas including Secunderabad, Jubilee Hills, Koti, Khairatabad, and the Old City for being absent without prior notification and failing to register their attendance on the facial recognition-based attendance system.

The disciplinary notices were issued following direct instructions from Hyderabad District Collector Priyanka Ala, who recently carried out a series of surprise inspections at government schools located across various parts of the city.

Providing details of the action, District Education Officer Yadaiah stated that the District Collector personally inspected multiple government schools to verify teacher availability and evaluate administrative records. During these checks, officials thoroughly scrutinized both physical attendance registers and digital records maintained under the Facial Recognition System (FRS).

Authorities discovered that despite the mandatory requirement for teachers to record their presence through the digital platform, 183 teachers were absent without clocking in through the FRS on time. None of the teachers had submitted prior information or obtained approval regarding their absence from duty.

DEO Yadaiah confirmed that show cause notices have been served to all 183 teachers for dereliction of duty and irresponsible conduct. He issued a stern warning that if any of the teachers repeat the offense for a second time, they will be placed under immediate suspension.

To ensure adherence going forward, Collector Priyanka Ala directed that special monitoring must be conducted on a daily basis across all state-run schools in the district. The administration aims to ensure that every teacher logs into the facial recognition system promptly at the start of school hours.

Yadaiah stated that Mandal Education Officers have been given full responsibility for tracking compliance within their respective jurisdictions. The MEOs must ensure that teachers register their attendance via FRS regularly and remain physically present on campus, emphasizing that strict action will continue against anyone violating departmental rules in order to protect educational standards and maintain institutional discipline.
