18-Year-Old Osmania Medical College Student Dies by Suicide in Uppal

An 18-year-old medical student died by suicide at an under-construction building near the RGI Stadium in Uppal early Sunday. Police said the student was suspected to have been suffering from exam-related stress.

The deceased was identified as K. Bhargav Reddy, a student of Osmania Medical College hailing from Medak district. He had been staying at the residence of his relatives in Ramanthapur.

According to his family, Reddy was studying for his internal examinations late into the night with his cousin before leaving the house unnoticed.

When family members realized he was missing, they lodged a missing person complaint with the police at 7:30 am. Police personnel later traced and found his body at the nearby under-construction building.

Investigators confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the scene. The family stated that he had been under severe stress regarding his examinations.

The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination and subsequently handed over to his family members. Police initially registered a case under missing circumstances, which was later altered to Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Further investigation is underway.
