15 Telangana Police Personnel, Firefighters Awarded Medals on Independence Day

HYDERABAD — The Central government has announced gallantry and service medals for 15 police officers, two fire services personnel, and one Home Guard from Telangana on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.

Among the honours conferred, three police personnel received the Gallantry Medal (GM), two senior officers were awarded the President's Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), and ten officers bagged the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).

Three junior commandos from the state — B Sathya Rao, K Sandeep Kumar, and J Vamshi Krihna — received the Gallantry Medal in recognition of their service.

The prestigious President's Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to two senior officers: Narsaiah Jogula, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), and R Jagadishwar Reddy, Superintendent of Police (SP).

Ten police officers from various ranks across the state were named recipients of the Medal for Meritorious Service. The awardees include P Jagadeeshwar (Inspector), P Venkata Ramana (ADCP), Bhumana Ravi Kumar Reddy (DSP), Bachalakura Ramesh (DSP), and Bupathi Srinivasa Rao (DSP).

Other police officers recognised with the MSM include Gangaram Ashala, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP); R G Siva Maruthi, ACP; C Ramulu, Head Constable; K Thirupathi Raju, Head Constable; and D Satyanarayana, Assistant Commandant.

In addition to the police department recipients, two fire services personnel, including Leading Fire Fighter Ashok Munde, and Home Guard Yadaiah Medipalli from Telangana were also awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service.

The honours were part of a nationwide distribution announced on Independence Day, which included 301 Gallantry Medals, 92 President's Medals for Distinguished Service, and 664 Medals for Meritorious Service across the country.
