12-Year-Old Student Drowns in Bachupally Lake

A 12-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Bachupally Lake in Quthbullapur, Hyderabad, on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The victim, identified as Charan, was a fifth-standard student and a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Nizampet.

According to police, the boy had gone to the lake for a swim when he accidentally drowned in the water.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Bachupally police rushed to the spot. Officers shifted the body of the young boy to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The Bachupally police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the drowning.
