12 Weapons Stolen from Madras Regiment in Secunderabad, Police Probe Security Breach

A major security breach has been reported at the Madras Regiment in Secunderabad after unidentified burglars broke into a weapons storage room and stole 12 firearms along with ammunition on Sunday night.

According to reports, the stolen inventory includes an INSAS rifle, four AK-47 assault rifles, and six pistols, in addition to live ammunition. The culprits reportedly broke open the lock of the storage room inside the military facility to gain access to the arms.

The incident came to light when Army personnel discovered that the weapons were missing from the facility. Security personnel promptly alerted senior military authorities, after which the Army formally lodged a complaint with the Bollarum police on Monday morning.

Police have since launched a comprehensive investigation to track down the stolen arms and trace the individuals involved in the break-in. Investigators are examining how the perpetrators managed to enter the tightly guarded military premises, breach the secured storage room, and escape with the weapons.

Authorities are investigating whether the stolen firearms were quickly transported away from the premises or hidden at a location nearby. As part of the ongoing probe, officials are expected to analyze CCTV footage from the surrounding area and review the movements of all personnel stationed in and around the establishment.
