11th-Century Jain Inscription Found at Dundigal Temple in Medchal District

An 11th-century Jain inscription has been discovered on the premises of the Lakshminarayana Swamy temple in Dundigal, Medchal district.
The historical artifact was discovered by Narsannagari Jagan, who relayed the information to Haragopal, the president of the New Telangana History Group.
According to the temple priest, the stone pillar was originally situated near a small pond in Dindi before it was relocated to the temple grounds. The pillar is currently broken in the middle.
The pillar features 41 lines of text engraved across three of its sides, written in 11th-century Telugu and Kannada scripts. The carvings on the stone depict the sun, the moon, a Jain Tirthankara, and a cow with a calf.
Historians have identified the inscription as dating back to the reign of Kalyani Chalukya emperor Tribhuvanamalladeva.
