10 Injured as Private Bus from Hyderabad Overturns on NH-44 Near Bhoothpur

Ten passengers sustained injuries, with four in critical condition, after a private bus travelling from Hyderabad overturned near Bhoothpur in Mahbubnagar district shortly after midnight on Thursday. Several of the injured passengers hail from Hyderabad localities, including Lingampally, Miyapur, and Gandipet.

The accident took place on National Highway 44 when the bus, carrying 38 passengers, was en route from Hyderabad. According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a lorry following a reported tyre burst, causing the bus to overturn on the highway.

Police officials, including Bhoothpur Sub-Inspector Naganna, rushed to the accident site shortly after the incident and took immediate measures to clear the road and regulate vehicular traffic. Circle Inspector Ramakrishna confirmed that several individuals from Hyderabad and surrounding regions were among those injured in the crash.

Following the mishap, emergency responders shifted the injured passengers to the Mahbubnagar General Hospital for preliminary emergency care. Those requiring advanced medical attention were subsequently transferred to a private hospital in Hyderabad for further treatment.

Superintendent of Police Janaki visited the hospital in Mahbubnagar to take stock of the situation, oversee medical assistance, and console the injured victims.

Authorities identified several of the injured passengers, including Sharanappa, Lakshmi Durga, and Maheswari from Guntur, who were among those seriously hurt. Other injured individuals include Akshita, Venkatram, Ravikumar, Pramod, Santhosh, and Santhosi from Hyderabad; Premlatha and Ramesh from Lingampally; Sujatha, Hemalatha, and Rajendra Prasad from Miyapur; Maheshwari from Gandipet; Sunitha from Sangareddy; Prabhu from Vellore in Tamil Nadu; and Sai Teja from Rajamahendravaram.

Police noted that further details regarding the accident and the condition of the injured passengers are awaited as investigations continue.
